Marin Foster Care Association is a vital support group for youth in the system and their care givers. Their mission is to provide comprehensive resources that inspire and empower the Foster Care Community. Marin Foster Care Association (MFCA) supports the community through multiple programs. The community resource center is a free, fully stocked resource for anything a child could possibly need from clothing to bikes.
Resource Family Training provides care givers with opportunities to fulfill their necessary annual training hours to be licensed by the county. The Mom2mom program provides training, connection, and community for care givers with a network of supporters helping and training one another along the way. Organization of volunteers who help families with assistance with anything from meals to respite care. There are also two public health nurses available as well as an annual picnic and holiday party to bring the community together.
Marin Foster Care is the only agency in the Bay Area that provides these services. They truly make a difference in the lives of foster youth and resource parents from stocking a resource family with all they need to care for a child to supporting that child with enrichment opportunities. They have become a model for other counties. Marin Charitable is proud to have been supporting Marin Foster Care since 2010.
